Ammini Padiyath received Gurudev’s blessings in the form of a lovely letter on the occasion of the house-warming ceremony of her newly built house.

Ammini Padiyath 9.4.1993

In their autograph book, he wrote in 1973:

Ammini Padiyath 30.11.1973

A home is the place where man lives and strives for his security and satisfaction – but the same becomes a Temple when in and through our efforts, we discipline ourselves to grow in our inner purity and balance.

Your house is a Temple. Keep it always so.

Home can be a heaven, says Gurudev and it is for us to make it so.

Vinita A. Mehta 9.8.1973

A home is not merely a roof over us – it must be a harbour from all mental worries – a divine sanctuary – a heaven of peace – an arbour of love and affection – a garden where your children can grow in beauty and strength. All these no parent can order – we can only build a house and spread carpets, fix furniture, stuff the fridge…..but the blessed “atmosphere” must come to us by His Grace.

Swami Chinmayananda

There is no greater heaven on earth.

Hamsa Salvi 31.8.1968

And to have a reading session at home – where father reads and all children listen and discuss – I assure you there is no greater heaven upon earth. And you don’t realise the influence you are leaving upon your children. Nothing impresses them in their deeper depths as that which happened to them through their own father and mother.
