Swami Chinmayananda had a special affinity with the youth. He said that the future of our country lies in their hands. Teenage and young adulthood is a difficult time. One tends to be rebellious, confused and resistant to any advice. But Gurudev had a way of connecting with them directly. After all, he had also been a very rebellious young man!
Most of the young people who were lucky enough to come into contact with Pujya Gurudev grew up to be highly responsible citizens that the country can be proud of. Many of them have become pillars of the Chinmaya Mission today.
And the tradition continues through the Chinmaya Yuva Kendra. The Youth Empowerment Programme has moulded and transformed young people, batch after batch. Having imbibed the sacred values and learnt to face the challenges of life, they launch out into the world, enriching it in a variety of ways.
